Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of smoke and odor at the time of self-cleaning by a method wherein setting of a heating part of a collecting electrode and formation of a catalyst layer are so made as to correspond to the effective discharge length of a discharge electrode, in an electronic type dust collector whereby dust contained in air is attracted to the collecting electrode and in an air conditioner using this electronic type dust collector.
SOLUTION: The length of a portion 70b of heating by a sheath heater 71 of a collecting electrode 70 is made almost equal to the length of an effective discharge part 60b of a discharge electrode 60. Thereby dust can be prevented from sticking on a non-heating part 70a of the collecting electrode 70. Besides, the length of the part of a catalyst layer 77 of the collecting electrode 70 is made equal to or larger than that of the effective discharge part 60b of the discharge electrode 60. Thereby the dust can be prevented from sticking on the part of the collecting electrode 70 wherein the catalyst layer 77 is not formed.
