PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for providing operator selecting postponing operation for inactive state job automatically executed by the inactive state job according to postponing operation selected when a designated and prescribed triggering event is generated.
CONSTITUTION: When an operator designating triggering event is generated, an inactive state printing job for executing a selected operation is presented to an operator. When the inactive state printing job to be executed postpone operation exists, the operator selects the triggering event and an operation to be executed (S1). The triggering event is sorted by the type (S2). After deciding the sort, it is added to a data base for the class (kind) of the triggering event (S3). The inactive state printing job is arranged in a system job directory (S4). Once the job is arranged, additional operation is not demanded (S5).
