PURPOSE: To provide high sensitivity to light in the oscillation wavelength region of semiconductor laser and to reduce the cost by forming a photosensitive layer contg. a zinc oxide compound, a phthalocyanine compound and a positive hole transferring substance dispersed in a resin binder.
CONSTITUTION: A zinc oxide compound, a phthalocyanine compound and a positive hold transferring substance are dispersed in a resin binder. The zinc oxide compound may be zinc oxide formed by a general French or American process. The phthalocyanine compound may be metallophthalocyanine or nonmetallophthalocyanine or an aromatic ring-substitution product thereof. Any positive hole transferring substance known as an electrophotographic material can be used as the positive hole transferring substance without special restriction. The three components are pulverized, added to a soln. of the resin binder in a suitable org. solvent and uniformly dispersed with a dispersing machine such as a ball mill, a paint shaker, or an ultrasonic dispersing machine. The resulting dispersion liq. is applied to an electrically conductive substrate and dried to produce an electrophotographic sensitive body.
