PURPOSE: To prolong the life a recording body and to stabilize a picture by providing an uneven surface which is to be formed on the recording body, inside of a belt, by forming an electrostatic image from the inside by a stylus electrode, and by developing it on the external smooth surface of the belt.

CONSTITUTION: A multistylus electrode 12 is provided inside of a beltlike recording body 14 and a control electrode 13 is also provided across the recording body 14; when a voltage is applied to the both, discharge occurs at the uneven surface side of the recording body 14 and static charge is generated at both the sides of the recording body 14 to form an electrostatic latent image. Then, a developing machine 6 supplies toner particles from the outside of the recording body 14, i.e., smooth side to form a visible image 7, which is transferred to normal paper 9 by a transfer part 8. Then, the residual toner is cleaned by a cleaner part 10 and because of the cleaning on the smooth surface, the efficiency of the cleaning is high, thereby securing the formation of the latent image.
