To prevent a housing rack from energetically starting moving and applying an excessive vibration to an article to be housed when the housing rack is elevated.
This elevating housing device is equipped with a speed control means 19 which controls the rotating angular speed of a motor 14 which elevates and drives the housing rack 12. Therefore, the housing rack 12 can be driven at a specified speed regardless of the weight of a content of the housing rack 12. In addition, when the housing rack 12 starts the elevating motion, the rotating speed of the motor 14 is gradually accelerated, and the housing rack is prevented from suddenly starting movement. Therefore, an excessive vibration is not applied to the housing rack 12, and the content is prevented from being broken by being knocked down or the like in the housing rack 12. Thus, the stable vertical movement becomes possible.
