An emergency information notification system 1 for notifying the emergency information transmitted from an emergency information transmitting organization 9 by means of a CATV broadcasting system installed every predetermined jurisdictional area includes an area emergency information preparing means 3 for preparing the area emergency information from the emergency information based on the jurisdictional area of the CATV broadcasting system 2, an emergency image information preparing means 4 for preparing the emergency image information based on the area emergency information, and an emergency image information transmitting means 5 for transmitting the emergency image information to the CATV receiver 6 connected to a TV receiver 8 within the jurisdictional area. Further, the system includes a broadcasting image preparing means 7 which is prepared in the CATV receiver 8 to produce the broadcasting image for display on the TV receiver 8 based on the emergency image information.
