Abstract:
PURPOSE: To lock a seat back in high reliability when abnormal acceleration is generated in a vehicle with a seat whose back is tiltably supported by the seat part.
CONSTITUTION: An emergency lock device for vehicle seat is so formed that an arm 24 having engagement gear teeth 23 at its lower end is extended from the side part of a seat back 21 to the side of the seat part 22, pawls 25 for engaging with the engagement teeth 23 are provided in the side part of the seat part 22, an oscillating pendulum engagement member 26 is pivoted in a lock position where the pawls 25 are engaged with the engagement teeth 23 by an inertia force based on abnormal acceleration or deceleration of a vehicle, a circumferential-direction long hole 40 is formed in the oscillating end of the engagement member 26, and a weight 41 is movably installed in the long hole 40.
