Title:
EMERGENCY ORBIT RELEASE APPARATUS OF SATELLITE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3530897
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily remove a satellite from an orbit even after the satellite loses a desired function due to any troubles by solving problems in that the reliability of the system required for removing the satellite is designed high so that the system remains sound until the operational period of the satellite is completed in a conventional method, and the cost thereof is increased.
SOLUTION: An effective orbit release is performed even after the function of the satellite is lost by mounting on the satellite an emergency orbit release apparatus of the satellite comprising a battery, a simple communication unit, an attitude controller, a handle and a marker or a reduction gear. The emergency orbit release apparatus loses the function of a body satellite, and rapidly shuts off the power source line to/from the body satellite, and notifies the position and the state of the apparatus to a ground station or satellites adjacent thereto. The attitude is maintained constant by the command, and captured by the satellites adjacent thereto having the function of the orbit release, and the orbit release is performed by using the function.
