To provide an emergency stop device for a small-size electric vehicle constantly ensuring the safety and the aptitude operation and improving the assemblage, durability, and the like.

A vehicle body frame attached with wheels and a driver's seat is mounted with an electric motor and batteries and the wheels are driven by the electric motor. An accelerator mechanism part 19 having an accelerator signal converting mechanism for converting the movement of an accelerator lever 17 into an electric signal is swingably supported to a steering handle 11 and, when the accelerator lever 17 rotationally turns around an accelerator lever shaft 21 and if the accelerator lever 17 is operated at a set stroke or more, the accelerator mechanism part 19 swings around a spindle 20 to actuate an emergency stop detecting switch 28.
