PURPOSE: To absorb displacements in the vertical and the horizontal directions and expansion and contraction in the longitudinal direction by a method wherein opposite connecting/fixing ends of carrier traveling rails laid oppositely at a distance are connected with a universal joint rail and a plurality of expandable/contractile joint rails with universal joints and connecting rods interposed in between.
CONSTITUTION: Opposite connecting/fixing ends 2A and 2B of carrier traveling rails 1A and 1B laid oppositely at a distance are connected with a universal joint rail 1C and expandable/ contractile joint rails 3A divided into a plurality of pieces with universal joints 5 interposed in between, and displacements in the vertical and the horizontal directions at the opposite connecting ends of the carrier traveling rails are absorbed with each of the universal joints 5 turned round each of horizontal pins 4B and each of vertical pins 4C. Connecting rods 8, each covered externally with an elastic body 10, are held between the connecting/fixing end 2A of the carrier traveling rail 1A and the connecting end 5A of the expandable/contractile joint rail 3A and between each of the expandable/contractile joint rails 3A so that the connecting rods can move in the longitudinal direction, and thereby fluctuations in expansion and contraction in the longitudinal direction can be absorbed. Therefore, a carrier becomes capable of traveling without interruption between the connecting/fixing ends 2A and 2B of the carrier traveling rails 1A and 1B laid oppositely at a distance between buildings A and B.
