PURPOSE: To streamline a manufacturing process in a very efficient manner, by indexing glass tubes taken out of a conveying device one by one, into equal parts on the circumference of a turntable and checking each of them thereat, while installing each of end rough polishing, inner-outer chanfering, medium finishing and end finish polishing devices in regular order.

CONSTITUTION: Each glass tube 13 being conveyed one by one by a belt conveyor 15 is extruded out by a pusher 16, chucked by a chuck device 18 being indexed in equal parts on a turntable 17 in regular order and rotated, while first an end face of each glass tube 13 is roughly polished by an end rough polisher 19, then outer chamfering takes place by an outer chamfering device 20, inner chamfering by an inner chamfering device 21 and end medium finishing by an end medium finishing device 22 in due order, respectively. Afterward, each glass tube 13 is taken out onto a finishing conveyor 23, then plural pieces in a lot are polished for finishing by an end finish polishing head 24, and finally housed in a rack 26 in order by the pusher 25.
