Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope designed to easily recognize irregularities on the surface of a human internal tissue through front observation.
SOLUTION: The endoscope comprises a part 12 for insertion into the body, an imaging optical system 22 provided on the distal end face of the part 12, and illumination means 28 and 30 for illuminating an area in front of the imaging optical system 22. At least a portion of the illumination provided by the illumination means 28 and 30 is given from a side of the optical axis of the imaging optical system 22 to thereby make it easier to recognize irregularities on the surface S of a human internal tissue.
