Title:
ENGINE COOLER PROVIDED WITH TANK CAPABLE OF PREVENTING OVERCOOL OF COOLANT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS56107916
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the warming up time at an engine start, by providing an adiabatic tank which preserves the engine coolant during a recess of engine operation. CONSTITUTION:An adiabatic tank 9 is provided at a higher position than an engine coolant circulating passage. When the engine stops, an accommodation valve 10 is opened and air is sent from an air pump 16. The coolant 5 staying in the engine coolant circulating passage passes through an accommodation pipe 11 and preserved in the tank 9. Then if the accommodation valve 10 and a tank ventilating valve 14 are closed, engine coolant 5' is kept at a high temperature even if the atmospheric temperature decreases. When a return valve 12, tank ventilating valve 14, and radiator/ventilating valve 15 are opened with the accommodation valve 10 closed at a restart of the engine, the coolant 5' returns to the engine coolant circulating passage. When the return valve 12 and the radiator ventilating valve 15 are closed, a combustion chamber 2 and a cylinder 4 are heated by the high temperature engine coolant and thus the warming up time may be reduced.
