Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston structure capable of suppressing heat transfer from a crown surface of a piston to the neighborhood of a piston ring through a base material of the piston.SOLUTION: A piston 3 includes a pair of boss portions 33 disposed at a rear surface side of a crown portion 31, a cavity 34 recessed from a crown surface 30 in a manner of scooping out a part of inclined faces 30a, 30b, and disposed to be faced to a fuel injection valve 6 disposed on a trough portion of a ceiling portion 170, a piston ring 38 mounted on an outer peripheral side surface of the crown portion, and a hollow portion 39 disposed at an inner part in a radial direction, of the piston ring at the crown portion and constituted to suppress heat transfer from the cavity to the piston ring through a base material of the piston. A back surface side of the hollow portion is closed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
