Abstract:

To realize prevention of fixed point floating when only a small part of the track of a magnetic storage device is used, for example when a magnetic memory device of a small native max address is maintained and replaced by a magnetic memory device of a large native max address, in order to solve the problem that the magnetic memory device of the small native max address is replaced by the magnetic memory device of the large native max address, only a narrow part of the outer periphery of the large magnetic memory device is used if the difference between the large and small magnetic memory devices is large, thus taking risk of the fixed point floating, and the fixed point floating causes crash by a head continuously floating on a certain track, removing a lubricant on a disk with wind, and directly contacting the disk.

An LBA conversion method is used to store an entire capacity by skipping an LBA by an integer which is less than the value of the entire capacity divided by a capacity to be actually used, when fixed point floating occurs because only a part of the track of a magnetic memory device is used.
