To operate the risk of environment having a possibility of an accident from a general viewpoint by recognizing various types of environment around a vehicle.

A microcomputer recognizes an object in the environment around the vehicle using a CCD camera and a laser transmitting/receiving machine and recognizes the direction to the advancing direction, the speed, and the position of the vehicle for every type of the recognized object (step ST1). The microcomputer operates the risk according to the type of the object using risk parameters corresponding thereto (step ST2) and outputs the operated risk through an image and a voice (step ST3).
