To accurately detect deterioration of air current generation capability (air cooling capability) of a fan, in equipment having a heat generation component generating heat according to operation and the fan generating an air current to cool the heat generation component by air, a cooling function monitor monitoring the cooling function of the fan, and a fan deterioration monitoring program executed in the equipment, imparting a function for monitoring deterioration of the fan to the equipment.

Relation between a temperature and an operation rate of a metal component when the fan is in a normal state is previously stored, a temperature of the heat generation component and a temperature of a reference point are actually measured during the operation, the temperature of the heat generation component is designated, and it is decided to be deteriorated in a cooling capability when the actually measured temperature of the heat generation component is higher than an estimation temperature by a prescribed threshold temperature or above.
