Abstract:
PURPOSE: To stop an escalator at a short distance when it is stopped in an emergency such as in the case of descending at full load.
CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic clutch 8 is interposed between an electric motor 5 and a flywheel 4, and when an emergency stop is required, the clutch is disengaged, and the flywheel is separated, and a brake is put on in small inertia, but usually, the brake is put on loosely in large inertia, so that a safety operation can be carried out without giving unnecessary shocks to passengers.
