Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and easy method of estimating capacity of a lithium-ion battery for judging its extent of deterioration, and a lithium-ion battery pack (a lithium-ion battery with a control circuit combined) equipped with a means of warning on deterioration of a battery.
SOLUTION: In charging a lithium-ion battery by constant-current constant voltage system, a charging current value It is found at a time t elapsed from the time when a charging condition is changed from constant current(CC) to constant voltage(CV), and then, with the charging current value found, a capacity Ct of the lithium-ion battery is estimated. Further, a lithium-ion battery pack is constituted equipped with an operation circuit calculating an estimated capacity of the lithium-ion battery from the data given during charging, for instance, by the above method.
