Abstract:

To provide an evaluation method which allows for easily and quickly detecting the amount of hydrogen that is considered to affect white structure flaking and evaluating possibility of having white structure flaking from the detected amount of hydrogen.SOLUTION: A method of evaluating possibility of white structure flaking is provided, the method involving measuring the amount of hydrogen gas generated under conditions simulating usage conditions of a rolling device used in industrial equipment and present in the atmosphere to evaluate possibility that the rolling device may suffer from white structure flaking.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
