Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the air-fuel ratio from becoming rich by providing a check valve juxtaposed with a solenoid valve equipped bypass channel, between a fuel tank and a canister, disposing a pressure sensor between the fuel tank and the check valve, starting leakage checking under prescribed conditions, and executing fuel reduction after opening of the solenoid valve.
CONSTITUTION: A canister 22 is provided at a midway position of a passage 20 for making communication between a surge tank 8 located on the side downstream of a throttle valve 6 and a fuel tank 16. A check valve 28 is provided to a passage 24 for making communication between the canister 22 and the fuel tank 16. A pressure sensor 34 is interposed between the check valve 28 and the fuel tank 16. A control section 36 operates to open a solenoid valve 32 when the air-fuel ratio is under feed control and the water temperature, vehicle speed, vehicle speed fluctuation, and internal tank pressure respectively meet their set conditions and an idle switch is kept off. Thereafter, the fuel correction quantity is monitored, opening/closing control is made of a solenoid valve 42, and reducing control is thereby made of the fuel.
