Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the wrong operation and raise the reliability, by replacing the thyristor unit of a rapid demagnetizer by a short bar. CONSTITUTION:Power is supplied from the output bus 3 of a synchronous machine 1 to a thyristor rectifier 4 to energize the field winding 2 of the synchronous machine. The output of the thyristor rectifier 4 is controlled by adjusting the turn-on angle of thyristors through a Kent controller 5 by the output of an automatic voltage regulator 7. When a serious trouble occurs, a circuit breaker 17 coupled to the AC side of the rectifier 4 is opened to cut off the input current. At the same time, the short bar 18 is operated to short-circuit the field winding 2 through the short bar 18 and a discharge resistance 16. Thereby, the possibility of the wrong operation or non- operation is made lower than that with a thyristor switch. Thus, the reliability is improved.
