Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce exhaust noise by dividing the inside of a drive shaft housing longitudinally by means of a partition wall and storing respective chambers with a drive shaft and an exhaust pipe and guiding exhaust gas to the drive shaft side through a cut out provided in the lower end of the partition wall so as to make the exhaust gas go up through cooling water. CONSTITUTION:The inside of a drive shaft housing 3 connected to the lower portion of a case in which an engine is received is divided into two chambers 5, 6 by a partition wall 4 extending longitudinally, and a drive shaft 7 connected to the crank shaft of the engine is extended to the chamber 5 and an exhaust pipe 8 is extended to the chamber 6. In this case, a cutout 13 is formed in a position where is the lower portion of the partition wall 4 and the portion above a gear case 14 and as well is adjacent to a water pump 15 drived by the drive shaft 7. At the time of operation in medium and high speed range of the engine, exhaust gas passes through the cutout 13 and is exhausted from a sub-exhaust hole 12 through the chambers 5, 19 and the like, however, noise is eliminated by means of that the exhaust gas passes through the water in this process.
