Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine for a vehicle capable of securing braking force by a negative pressure type brake booster upon braking and improving exhaust emission control performance.
SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device of the internal combustion engine for the vehicle promotes exhaust air purification in an exhaust system by normally restraining an exhaust gas flow in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine or practicing two-stage combustion upon the cold-state starting of the internal combustion engine, etc., (S10, S12) and restricts the exhaust gas flow by a restricting means or prohibits the two-stage combustion by a two-stage combustion prohibiting means (S20) when a demand braking force relative value to be demanded by the negative pressure type brake booster is larger than an actual braking force relative value possibly generated from the negative pressure type brake booster (S18).
