Abstract:
To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, etc., in which NOx-cleaning catalyst is employed particularly for effectively removing NOx discharged from an automobile engine.
The exhaust emission control device includes a plasma reactor holding a hydrogen-forming catalyst, and the NOx-cleaning catalyst provided downstream of the plasma reactor. Since the hydrogen-forming catalyst is held in the plasma reactor, a hydrogen-forming catalyst reaction is activated by plasma, when necessary, to give H2 having increased reductive activity.
