Abstract:
To provide an exhaust emission control device which can improve purification performance.SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device comprises a honeycomb base material, a flow-in cell side catalyst layer and a flow-out cell-side catalyst layer. The honeycomb base material has a porous bulkhead which defines a plurality of cells extending up to a flow-out side end face from a flow-in side end face, The plurality of cells include a flow-in cell and a flow-out cell which adjoin each other with the bulkhead sandwiched therebetween, the flow-in cell is opened at a flow-in side end, and closed at a flow-out side end, the flow-out cell is closed at a flow-in side end, and opened at a flow-out side end, the flow-in cell side catalyst layer is arranged on a surface of a flow-in sell side of a flow-in side region of the bulkhead, the flow-out cell side catalyst layer is arranged on a surface of a flow-out cell side of a flow-out side region of the bulkhead, a center region in which a catalyst is not arranged exists between the flow-in side region and the flow-out side region in an extension direction of the bulkhead, and a length of the extension direction of the center region of the bulkhead is equal to 10% of the extension direction of the bulkhead or shorter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
