PURPOSE: To distribute recirculated exhaust gas uniformly to a plurality of cylinders, by providing a flow regulating means for directing the recirculated exhaust gas toward the center of an intake manifold at a nozzle portion for opening an exhaust-gas recirculating passage at the central concentrated part of the intake manifold.

CONSTITUTION: An intake manifold 2 is formed with a lateral passage 4 of an EGR (exhaust-gas recirculation) passage 1 connected to an exhaust passage, in the manner that the passage 4 extends along the intake manifold 2. The downstream side of the lateral passage 4 extends downward along a side part of the intake manifold 2 and is connected to a front passage 5 which extends in parallel to a riser portion 7. The front passage 5 is turned perpendicularly along the center of the intake manifold 2 and opens at the center of a concentrated part of the intake manifold 2 via a nozzle portion 8 also directed toward the center of the manifold 2. Further, a slit-like flow regulating member 10 is attached to a nozzle opening 9 so as to guide recirculated exhaust gas toward the center of the intake manifold 2.
