A periphery of a fuse element 14 to be connected between a fuse terminal 7 and a lead wire 13 is surrounded by an arc-extinguishing tube 2. A cylindrical arc-extinguishing material 5, 6 are arranged at inner periphery of the tube 2 over approximately overall length of the tube 2. The fuse element 14 is sequentially heated, welded, melted and vaporized from the side of the lead wire 13 to the side of the fuse terminal 7 at the time of large current breaking.
