Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a polyolefin resin which is extrudable whereas a conventional polyolefin resin is not and which generates no toxic gas on incineration and gives a profile extrudate resistant to chemicals.

CONSTITUTION: An extrudable polyolefin resin has a melt index (MI) of 0.1-10g/10min, an ant. of heat ΔHw absorbed due to the melting of crystals (measured by differential scanning calorimetry) of 30-90J/g, and a relaxation time τ (sec, obtd. by a dynamic viscoelasticity measurement at a frequency of 1Hz at 180°C)) satisfying the relation: τ<- 0.38×log(MI)+0.68.
