Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facial direction detection device capable of detecting an angle of a facial direction of an object person even when the angle of the facial direction of the object person exceeds an angle range in which a face of the object person can be recognized from image data.SOLUTION: A facial direction angular velocity Fθv(t-1) at a time immediately before the angle of the facial direction of a driver exceeds a detection range is stored. A lapse time T from when the angle of the facial direction of the driver exceeds the detection range is counted by a timer. Then, when it is considered that a movement in a face region of the driver is stopped, an estimated value Rθ of the angle of the facial direction is calculated on the basis of the stored facial direction angular velocity Fθv(t-1) and the lapse time T.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
