Abstract:

To provide a facility and a method for shearing capable of efficiently shearing a metal material such as a thick steel sheet with a small shearing load and easily shearing a material difficult to shear without requiring a special burden on the facility in the shearing of a metal material by a rolling cut shear method.

A clearance between upper and lower knives at an upper knife standby position before shearing is set so that a minimum relative rake angle θ0(deg) and an upper knife length L (mm) in a relative rake angle distribution in a knife longitudinal direction satisfy θ0×L≥150 without deteriorating the rolling performance of the metal material. By the clearance between the upper and lower knives at the upper knife standby position being small, shearing can be performed at a relative rake angle θ which is substantially uniformly large in the knife longitudinal direction, and compared with a conventional facility, a load in the vertical direction during shearing can be remarkably reduced.
