This facility is designed for replacing batteries 2 mounted on a vehicle in such a way as to be freely detachable. Battery storing spaces 10 are formed on a shelf 9, and a vehicle stop area 11 is provided at one side of the shelf 9. A transferring device 13 is provided which transfer the batteries 2 between a fork-lift 3 stopping at the vehicle stop area 11 and each battery storing space 10. Shelf-side charging connectors 21 are provided on each battery storing space 10 to contact the battery-side charging connector 19 of the stored batteries 2, and each shelf-side charging connector 21 is connected to a charger, an external power source for supplying power.
