CONSTITUTION: By mixing the base material composed of 70-95wt.% the graphite powder and 30-5wt.% the Al powder and the dilute solution composed of the binder and the solvent, the facing agent is constituted. Since Al is oxidized at easier than the graphite, Al is precedently oxidized at the time of pouring molten metal and the oxidation of the graphite is restrained. Further, even if the oxidation of graphite is developed, since the graphite is acted with Al and reprecipitated, the consumption of the graphite is restrained. Further, the generated Al2O3 strengthens the corrosion resistance of graphite facing agent. As the binder, it is available to use alumina sol. As the solvent, water, alcohol, etc., can be adopted. By this method, the oxidized consumption of the graphite facing agent is restrained and also the corrosion resistance is improved and the casting having beautiful casting surface and no seizure to the mold is obtd.
