Title:
FACSIMILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6350260
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To compress picture information including a large quantity of long code patterns to shorten the facsimile transmission time by substituting the code pattern, which appears in picture information most frequently, with a shorter code pattern to perform facsimile transmission. CONSTITUTION:An encoding device 1 encodes the picture signal outputted from a picture signal reader 2 and stores it in a memory 3. In this case, the number of times of occurrence of each code pattern of picture information, to which the picture signal is encoded, by a counter 4. The picture signal reader 2 compares cumulative numbers of times of occurrence of code patterns with one another and reports the code pattern, whose number of times of occurrence is largest, to a communication management controller 5. When the encoding device 1 detects this code pattern in picture information read from the memory 3, this code pattern is substituted with a preliminarily determined shorter code pattern signal and this signal is outputted to a picture signal transmission equipment 10.
