PURPOSE: To caution a facsimile operator on another side to pay attention to the impossibility of communication by notifying the impossibility and a substitutive destination to a transmitting source if a signal arrives when the facsimile communication cannot be received and the transmitting source is registered on a table.

CONSTITUTION: When the incoming signal arrives, a communication control part controls a network control part 2, automatically receives it, and then a facsimile procedure at the section of the other communication party is controlled. At such a time an expanded ID or a standard ID added to a procedure signal is fetched, sent to a communication ID recording part 3, the communication ID recording part 3 records it, based on the ID of the other recorded communication party, a telephone number retrieving part 4 retrieves a telephone number table storage part 5, and sends the telephone number of the other corresponding transmitting source to a sound signal sending control part 6. The sound signal sending control part 6 sends the sound signal stored into an electric sound signal storage part 7 based on the sent telephone number. Thus, if the signal arrives when the facsimile communication cannot be received, the impossibility of the reception or the substitutive destination can be notified.
