PURPOSE: To obtain a facsimile testing equipment and testing method therefor which unnecessitates a normal facsimile equipment and is capable of specifying an abnormal portion.

CONSTITUTION: This equipment is composed by being provided with an operation part 1, an image signal preparation part 2, a storage part 3, an input/output control part 4 and an image comparison part 5, for a substrate 6 to be tested. In the image signal preparation part 2, arbitrary image data is prepared and the substrate 6 to be tested is set to a transmission state. The image data stored in the substrate 6 to be tested is transferred to the storage part 3, the image data by the image preparation part 2 and the image data stored in the storage part 3 are compared in an image comparison part 5, and the propriety of a transmission operation is decided. Next, the substrate 6 to be tested is set to a reception state, the reception image data stored in the substrate 6 to be tested is stored in the storage part 3, the image data of the image signal preparation part 2 and the image data stored in the storage part 3 are compared in the image comparison part 5 and the propriety of a reception operation is decided.
