Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely judge a fault of the yaw rate sensor in its early stage.
SOLUTION: The variation rate σd of the detection yaw rate γ of the yaw rate sensor 22 is calculated (S50) and on the basis of parameters other than the yaw rate of a vehicle, estimated yaw rates γvw and γgy are calculated (S80, 100), and the variation rate of the detected yaw rate is compared with a 1st threshold value γ dc (S70), the detected yaw rate is compared with a 2nd threshold value γc, and the estimated yaw rate is compared with 3rd threshold values γvwc and γgyc (S90, 110). Then it is decided (S140 to 160) that the yaw rate sensor has got out of order when the state wherein the detected yaw rate is larger than the 2nd threshold value and the estimated yaw rate is less than the 3rd threshold values lasts for longer than a reference time T2c within a specific time T1c after the variation rate of the detected yaw rate becomes larger than the 1st threshold value.
