Abstract:
PURPOSE: To quickly detect a fault generated due to the self-discharge of an ultraviolet discharge tube (UV tube).
CONSTITUTION: A shutter 4 is arranged between the UV tube 3 and a flame 2, the shutter 4 is periodically closed for a prescribed time each, a rate of change when the output voltage VF of a flame detecting circuit 5 is dropped within the prescribed time from the close of the shutter 4 is found out, and when the rate of change is smaller than a prescribed decision level, the generation of a fault due to the self-discharge of the UV tube is judged. Consequently a fault due to the self-discharge of the UV tube can quickly be detected, the safeness of a combustion device can be improved, the maintenance of the device can also be improved and the service life of the UV tube can be more accurately managed.
