PURPOSE: To facilitate controlling of rotating speed caused by speed characteristics of a stepping motor, by a method wherein a servo motor for independently rotating a feed screw shaft and a nut is provided at a moving part.

CONSTITUTION: In a feeding mechanism wherein the feed screw shaft and the nut are fitted to each other and a table, a pallet or the like to which the nut is connected is fed, the stepping motor 6 for driving the feed screw shaft can be operated at pulse rates for slow-up and slow-down in a conventional manner at the times of starting and stopping, and to position a feed table speedily and accurately, the servo motor 11 is operated to rotate the feed nut 8. Further, the feeding mechanism is provided with a motor 11 and the motor 6 independently. Accordingly, controlling of rotating speed caused by the speed characteristics of the stepping motor can be facilitated.
