PURPOSE: To prevent mis-input of a manual figure position due to a digitizer and to simplify the constitution of a device, by designating the position of figure in advance with a magnet placed at a designated position on the figure scanning the magnetic sensor on the figure and inputting automatically the figure position information.

CONSTITUTION: A digitizer of a country type or a moving section 2 of an X-Y plotter is taken the same as the movement of the magnetic sensor 9 and the amount of movement is converted into an electric signal with a converter such as a potentiometer. The inputted figure 4 is placed on a receiving plate 7 of the device and magnets 100, 101 designating the figure position are arranged in advance on the lines 8 on the diagram. Further, a nonmagnetic plate 11 is arranged on the figure 4, and holes 11 having the same size as the outer diameter of plural magnets 100, 101 are provided for the plate 11. Then, the position on the figure 4 is designated in advance with the magnets 100, 101, the moving section 2 is moved with a drive mechanism of the input device, the figure 4 is scanned with the sensor 9, the position of the magnets 100, 101 is detected with the sensor 9, allowing to prevent the mis-input of the input device.
