PURPOSE: To simplify a file system and to minimize an overhead by allowing the virtual storage system to reference an auxiliary storage device and supervise a cache memory for the auxiliary storage device in a main storage device.
CONSTITUTION: A function to project one disc file to a main storage area in a form shared in common with plural tasks, a managing function as a record of a real time file system, and an exclusive control function preventing destruction and missing of information by file simultaneous referring at the execution of plural tasks are provided to a system service program 14 of a main storage device 10. After a program executed by a CPU30 of the virtual storage system is initialized, the reference of an auxiliary storage device 20 is projected all to a global section 42. Then a data is copied to the virtual address space of each task processing by using a prescribed command.
