PURPOSE: To obtain a molded article having a natural stone-like crystalline brilliant pattern and a clear grained tone pattern, by molding a molding material of resin containing a filler subjected to surface treatment with a specific emulsifying agent.
CONSTITUTION: A filler for a molding material of resin, subjected to surface treatment with an emulsifying agent containing a radically polymerizable carbon carbon double bond in the molecule. The amount of the emulsifying agent used is about 0.01-5wt.% calculated as solid substance based on a filler to be subjected to surface treatment. The particle diameter of the filler to be subjected to surface treatment is about 0.01-5mm. When the particle diameter is about 0.01mm, a brilliant pattern hardly develops and when the particle diameter exceeds 5.0mm, molding cracks will occur because of too large size of the filler. A compound shown by the formula (R is alkyl) is preferable as the emulsifying agent used.
