To solve the problem that a structure of a filter cartridge containing granular activated carbon, has such a defect that filling with the activated carbon is not perfect and filters inserted in the partition plates to prevent the leak of the activated carbon are clogged with forein matters in water and is disadvantageous in cost.
The filter cartridge has a first nonwoven fabric, a first partition plate, a granular activated carbon bed, a second nonwoven fabric and a second partition plate arranged thereto in this order in a water flowing direction. The granular activated carbon bed is held between the first and second nonwoven fabrics and the pertition plates having the nonwoven fabrics fixed thereto have a plurality of arch shapes with respect to a center axis and projections are provided to the leading ends of the partition plates so as be fitted in film case groove parts. By this constitution, stable filtering capacity is imparted because the gaps of granular activated carbon are eliminated and the leak of granular activated carbon is prevented and the filter cartridge advantageous from an aspect of cost and excellent in assembling properties can be provided.
