PURPOSE: To manufacture efficiently and inexpensively a filter element by improving a fixing structure of end plates with an element main body in the filter element for a dry air filter wherein endplates made of an elastic foam are fitted on both ends of a cylindrical element main body.

CONSTITUTION: The first end plate 2 and the second end plate 3 are foam- molded in advance by means of an injection molding machine. After an element main body 1 is assembled, both end plates 2 and 3 are fixed on both ends of the element by adhesion. A number of molds and conveyers for insert-fixing the element main body to the end plates and a heating oven for foaming are indispensable conventionally but these installations become unnecessary in the present invention. As the end plates are molded in advance and these are only attached, there exists no possibility to produce inferiors on the shape and function and it is possible to manufacture efficiently the filter element.
