To provide a filtration method for efficiently separating a catalyst from a mixture of the catalyst with the reaction solution of a liquid phase reaction for hydrogenating nitrobenzene to produce aniline.
A mixture of a catalyst with a reaction solution 10 taken out from a liquid phase reaction tank 4 is subjected to the primary filtration with a primary filtration device 17. On the other hand, steam is supplied from a steam-supplying line 27, while stirring a cake in a secondary filtration device 25 with a stirring blade 26. The catalyst caught on a filter 18 of the primary filtration device 17 is introduced into the steam-supplied secondary filtration device 25 as a slurry formed by a reverse washing treatment to secondarily filter the catalyst.
