To provide a financial statement automatic input apparatus capable of digitizing image input information which has performed financial statement automatic input by using a basic program of printing type OCR, correcting the digitized information by automatic checking against a title of account, improving read precision, and shortening input time.

The apparatus is provided with: a processing means for performing recognition processing to input results of image inputting the financial statement by a scanner every title column and every sum of money column and digitizing characters of image information; and a matching processing for dividing digitized characters into a character string and numerical values to match and check the character string against a title of account dictionary. The processing means for replacing erroneously read characters and a decision character string with a correct character string and a digitizing processing means include processing for framing the title of account and the sum of money range automatically by selecting a most similar pattern out of a read frame pattern displayed to a display when performing the recognition processing.
