Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a fingerprint photographing device that is improved so as to be usable in a security system that performs entry control or the like.
CONSTITUTION: An illuminating light source 60 produces an illuminating beam of light. A fingerprint input portion 70 introduces the illuminating beam from the illuminating light source 60 into a rectangular prism 81, and a face of the prism against which a predetermined operator presses the thick of his fingertip reflects the illuminating beam to correspond to the form of the fingerprint. An external light input portion 40 collects external light via a semitransparent cover 41 from around an area where the operator exists. An optical path switching portion 90 selects either the illuminating beam from the fingerprint input portion 80 or external light from the external light input portion 40 to correspond to the displacement of a reflector 93, and outputs the selected beam. An image pickup camera 100 forms an image on a CCD by focusing either the illuminating beam or the external light from the optical path switching portion 90 by means of a focusing optical system, and picks up a fingerprint image of the operator or an image of his surroundings. A central control circuit 110 controls the driving of the illuminating light source 60, the optical path switching portion 90 and the image pickup camera 100 in combination with one another.
