Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain thermally stable fire retardants that impart good shock resistance to a polymer compsn. contg. the fire retardants but do not impart high sensitivity to irradiation with a UV ray.
CONSTITUTION: Fire retardant compds. are halogenated 1,1,3-trimethyl-3- phenylindane (TMPI) or 1-methyl-3-phenylindane (MPI) having three or more halogen atoms per one molecule. Its production method and a polymer compsn. contg. TMPI and MPI are provided.
