To provide a fixing apparatus that allows a soaking member to constantly dissipate heat in a case of fixing processing to a small size paper or during the continuous fixing processing, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the same.
A fixing apparatus 5 fixes a toner image carried on a sheet 9 by heating and pressing the sheet with a nip portion N where a fixing belt 26 and a pressure roller 19 come in pressure contact. The fixing apparatus 5 is in contact with the pressure roller 19 and includes a soaking member 51 that has thermal conductivity and allows the pressure roller 19 to dissipate heat. The soaking member 51 is formed in a cylindrical shape, and holes 51a that penetrate into the inside of the cylinder 51c are formed on the outer peripheral surface 51b in accordance with the central part of a sheet feeding area.
