Abstract:
To detect the temperature of a fixing member or a pressure member in a non-paper feed area that is increased or reduced in a width direction when sheets with different width direction sizes are conveyed to a nip part without installing a plurality of temperature detection means.SOLUTION: A fixing device is provided with a fixing roller 21 (a fixing member) that is heated by a heater 25 (heating means) and heats a toner image T to fix the image to a surface of a sheet P, and a pressure roller 31 (a pressure member) that is in pressure contact with the fixing roller 21 to form a nip part through which the sheet P is conveyed. The fixing device is further provided with an end temperature sensor 41 (end temperature detection means) that detects the temperature at an end in a width direction of the fixing roller 21 (or the pressure roller 31).
